20th August 2017 - 20th Sunday of Ordinary Time

   

BAPTISM: baptisms should take place as soon as possible, preferably within weeks of the birth. The course of instruction for those wishing to have their child baptised takes place on Sundays at 11.30 am in the Bulbeck Room. To register please contact the parish office.

 

THE BOOKSHOP will be closed for stocktaking next weekend, 26/27 August.

Newspapers will be available in the porch: please put money in the slots in the bookshop wall.

 

PADRE PIO PRAYER GROUP will not be meeting in August.

 

EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT does not take place during the month of August.

 

SENIOR CITIZENS’ SOCIAL CLUB not meeting in August:

 

DIVORCED & SEPARATED CATHOLICS’ PRAYER GROUP next meets Thursday 7th September.

 

THE BENET CLUB is running a Guessing Competition to raise funds to send a  sick person to Lourdes. Guess how much money there is in the bottle. For £1 you could win a prize of a meal for 2 with wine at Atlantis Greek restaurant Pitzhanger

 

BOOK CIRCLE next meets on Wednesday 13th September at 8.15 pm in the Dominic Young Room to discuss Commonwealth by Ann Patchett. All welcome.

NATIONAL MASS FOR ALTAR SERVERS at Westminster Cathedral, 2.30 pm on Sat 21 Oct Servers who wish to take part should bring their robes to the cathedral hall in Ambrosden Avenue, before 2pm. See the website: guildofstephen.org

THE MYSTICAL WAY OF ST. BENEDICT

A series exploring the work of great figures in the Benedictine tradition who have contributed to contemplative renewal in the Church today. Please note these future dates:

Wednesday 20th September – Gina Garrett on Thomas Merton

Wednesday 25th October – Fr. Laurence Freeman on John Main

These meetings will be from 7 to 9 pm & will include 20 minutes of silent meditation.– venue tbc.

 

INHERITANCE: a festival for young adults (aged 16-35) and families at Walsingham, 24th to 28th August – talks, workshops, worship, friendship, healing. The festival takes place at the Roman Catholic National Shrine about a mile outside the village of Walsingh

 

SVP (Society of St. Vincent de Paul) meets regularly at Ealing Abbey and provides moral and practical support to those in need through personal contact.  If you know of anyone in need please contact the parish office.

INTERCESSIONS FOR THE SICK: we are happy to include the names of anyone who is seriously ill in the list of those prayed for in the intercessions. The names will remain on the list for one month. If you want prayers for them for a further month please contact the parish office or one of the parish fathers.

MONDAY EVENINGS there is Bingo in the parish hall from 8.00pm and a Bridge Club meets in the Bulbeck Room. Please come along if you are interested in joining in.
